The Corporation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Amravati, is administered by the Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod, Amravati. The Sisters have been working in India for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized since 1886. In the year 1939 the social condition of the people of Vidharbha was miserable. The people lacked education, medical facilities, and employment. To combat this situation, the Sisters thought of registering an organization under Section 26 of the Indian Companies’ Act to be able to do relief work in an organized and effective way.
On 14th Feb 1947 the Corporation of the Sisters of the Cross, Amravati received the Grant of License under section 26 of the Indian Companies Act. It got incorporated under the Indian Companies Act VII of 1913 on 13th December 1951. Then onwards it works for the upliftment of the poor by way of:
